COLORADO ELK HUNTING

Elk Hunting. All of our elk hunts are completely fair chase. You won't find any high
fences here!!! We specialize in wilderness horseback pack-in elk hunts and
late season private land elk hunts.
Thanks to a series of mild winters, point restrictions
and good herd management, we have experienced excellent success with our elk
hunts. The 4 point antler restriction on bull elk has been in place for 18
years in our units. This has protected the young bulls, allowing them to
grow older and smarter. It has proven to be a great herd builder, with many
bulls each year living to be mature trophy
class animals. This coupled with the
remoteness of our area allows the dedicated hunter a real chance at
collecting a trophy bull. We offer pack-in hunts in one of Colorado's
limited license units as well as private land hunts in a guaranteed license
area. We have been experiencing greater trophy potential each year with over
half of our hunters taking bulls that were 5x6s or bigger.

Action Adventures is a full time professional outfitter
licensed, bonded, and insured in the State of Colorado. Over the last 20 years
we have assembled a collection of elk hunts to make the utmost of each season.
Trophy timberline mule
deer bow hunts in late August and early September, while these
monster bucks are in velvet and on their summer range. Bow and muzzleloader
hunts for bugling bull elk during the rut. Wilderness pack-in rifle elk hunts in
the high country in mid October, and late season private land hunts in November.
As with all our trips your complete satisfaction is our main goal.
If you have never
experienced it, there is nothing that compares to a wilderness elk hunt. Those
of you that have, know what I am talking about. Cold crisp mornings, the creak
of your saddle, methodical beat of your horses hooves picking their way through
the darkness, bull elk bugling in the pre-dawn hours. The musky smell of a rank
old bulls bed, day breaking on a distant ridge, sights and sounds of the
wilderness waking up before your eyes. Does this sound exciting! Give us the

 The seasoned hunter will appreciate the many amenities Action
Adventures has to offer. From our well trained and conditioned stock (most of
which we raised ourselves), to the first class home cooked meals that we
provide. If this is your first hunt out west you will value the knowledge of
your experienced guide.
We cater to small groups. You will never find our camps over
booked!!! We decided several years ago
that the only way we could provide the kind of experience that we wanted for our
hunters was for me to oversee the operation of our guided hunts. This has
brought the excitement back to the business for me with the total control of day to day
activities. You won't be booked by an outfitter that you only see when it's time to
collect your payment. On most days you will find me out guiding one of our
valued clients. Most of which have become treasured friends.
